If you've already been through our website, you'll know that it is mostly dedicated to the "Tuscan Experience", but if you are looking for a synthesis, you've come to the right place.

When we're at our home base in San Miniato, Tuscany, our guests simply become part of our world, absorbing an intimate, homey life made of wonderful food, great rows, and the amazing countryside and culture of Tuscany. Every week spent here is a little bit different, or even a LOT different, depending on festivals, markets, the weather, the rowing ability of the group, the appetite (or diet...), and the spontaneity of life in Italy.

A typical week goes like this:

DAY ONE
Arrival in Pisa or Florence around noon
A homemade lunch will greet you, followed by some post-travel relaxation and a restorative walk around San Miniato
In the evening we'll have a briefing at the lake with an overview of individual skill levels and boat sizes.
Dinner in a local restaurant

DAY TWO
Morning row: some good stretching, rowing & video taping
Homemade lunch and then off to explore Siena and its surrounding hills.
Dinner on the way home in a little trattoria that seats only 8.
DAY THREE
Morning row after which we'll leave straight from the lake to the Etruscan Coast for a picnic, swimming and archaeology, followed by a walk around the exquisite little town of Populonia and its castle. We'll stop on the way home for a sunset-drenched dinner on the sea.
DAY FOUR
Morning row: a bit longer today with emphasis on finding boat speed. Afterwards a well-earned cappuccino.
After lunch today we'll relax a bit, taking just a short trip in the late afternoon to a local spot such as Vinci, where Leonardo was born.
DAY FIVE
We'll drive to Florence right after breakfast and be at the Florence Rowing Club around mid-morning, in time to row under the Ponte Vecchio, take some amazing pictures, and explore the club. We'll have lunch there and then you'll have the afternoon to explore Florence on your own.
Dinner back at the hotel/B&B
DAY SIX
Morning row, then after showing a trip to the walled city of Lucca, where a hearty lunch awaits us, to taste some of the flavors of the Garfagnana, the hilly region north of Lucca.
On the way home a stop in Tuscany's "Chocolate Valley" for amazing chocolate and coffee. A light dinner back home for anyone who still has room.
DAY SEVEN
Breakfast and video review
Morning row: erg warm-up, stretching, speed drills plus exercises, video taping
Homemade lunch
Trip to Certaldo, surrounding area, and medieval festival “Mercantia”
Dinner at the festival

DAY EIGHT
Breakfast and video review
Morning row: erg warm-up, stretching, video review
In the afternoon a second row, or a trip to the beach..or anything we haven't done yet during the week!
We'll have a wonderful dinner for our last night together, to exchange pictures and addresses and receive your diplomas.
