Lake Champlain ....

This year Quebec, Vermont, New York and the governments of Canada, the USA and France will be joining efforts to celebrate the arrival of explorer Samuel De Champlain at the bottom of his namesake 400 years ago. The whole lake will be abuzz with activites, exhibits, and celebrations of every aspect of the lake's history, from its pre-historic and pre-colonial origins to its fundamental role in the War of Independance and the French and Indian Wars, up to its modern day ecology and beauty.

We plan to particiapte in these celebrations by rowing longboats built by the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (with the help from local students) up from Shelburne Bay and around the Lake Champlain Islands. We're still working out the path and the details but check back soon or send us an email to receive updates as soon as they're ready.
